Dental Emergency in Halifax

If you are experiencing a dental emergency in Halifax, call Scotia Dental and one of our dentists will see you as soon as possible.

If you require immediate care, please visit the hospital emergency room nearest you.

The following situations require emergency dental care.

Lost Fillings or Crowns

If you have a broken or lost dental crown or filling, try to locate it, and if possible, rinse it off and place it back on the tooth. Call our office right away to let us know you need an appointment.
Broken or Chipped Teeth

If you have broken or chipped a tooth, try to locate the missing piece if you can, because your dentist may be able to reattach it. Whether you can find it or not, please call our office as soon as possible to get it taken care of.
Knocked Out Teeth

If a tooth has been knocked out, try to find the tooth if you can, put it in saline or milk and contact your dentist office.

Do not try to put a knocked-out tooth back in a child's mouth even if it is an adult tooth.

Visit our office as soon as possible (try to call ahead if you can). The sooner you get here after knocking out your tooth, the more likely it is that your dentist will be able to save it.
Something Stuck Between Teeth

First, try using dental floss, very gently and carefully. If you can't remove the object, we will be able to remove it for you.
